I’m not a physician or dentist. Can I join CMDA?

Whether you are a practicing or retired healthcare professional, student, resident, fellow, or a non-healthcare friend who would like to support the ministry of CMDA, there is a place for you!

Christian healthcare professionals, residents, fellows and students pursuing a career in healthcare are welcome to join CMDA. Our membership includes physicians, dentists, podiatrists, optometrists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other rehab professionals, healthcare administrators, PhDs in academic programs, dental hygienists, dental assistants, mental health counselors, and others.

Non-Acceptable Fields of Practice for Membership in CMDA: Chiropractors, Naturopaths, Homeopaths, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists

What membership categories are available?

Physician and Dentist – This category is reserved for Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD), Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) and Doctor of Optometry (OD). The annual dues rate is $459.

Associate Healthcare Professional – This category is reserved for associate healthcare professionals including Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Rehab Specialist, Pharmacist, Healthcare Administrator, Nurse, Academic PhD, Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistant, Mental Health Counselor, etc. The annual dues rate is $160.

Retired Professional – This category is reserved for all retired healthcare professionals of any degree and specialty. The annual dues rate is $115.

Student, Resident and Fellow – This category is reserved for all healthcare professional students, medical and dental residents and fellows. There are no annual membership dues for students, residents and fellows. Their annual membership dues are underwritten by the paid dues of practicing members.

International Career Missionary – This category is reserved for full-time missionaries serving internationally and international friends. There are no annual membership dues for international career missionaries. Their annual membership dues are underwritten by the paid dues of practicing members.

Friend of CMDA – This category is reserved for non-healthcare friends of CMDA who support our ministry through annual membership. The annual dues rate is $115.

Lifetime Member – This category is reserved for those who prefer to make to invest in a one-time lifetime membership in lieu of paying annual dues. Consider becoming a Lifetime Member of CMDA today to avoid possible dues increases and hassle of annual dues payments and gain access to exclusive Lifetime Member benefits. How do I join CMDA?

You must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Statement of Faith and CMDA’s Mission Statement.

While each of us hold fast to additional beliefs important to our relationship with God, the following statement outlines the tenets that provide a foundation for our fellowship and participation in the Christian Medical & Dental Associations.

I believe:

In the divine inspiration and final authority of the Bible as the Word of God;
In the eternal God revealed in Holy Scripture as Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
In the unique Deity of Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, whose death and resurrection provide by grace through faith the only means of my salvation;
In the transforming presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

Membership Dues

How much are CMDA membership dues?

We offer various levels of membership dues based on your individual status. We try to structure membership dues to accommodate all healthcare professionals who desire to be members.

Physician and Dentist - $459
Associate Healthcare Professional - $160
Retired Professional - $115
Friend of CMDA (Non-healthcare) - $115
Student, Resident and Fellow – underwritten
International Career Missionary – underwritten

Are membership dues tax-deductible?

CMDA annual and lifetime membership dues do not qualify as a charitable donation.

At CMDA, we strive to improve the value of membership and provide resources and benefits to equip you that you won’t find anywhere else. The CMDA Learning Center offers hundreds of hours of free medically reliable, biblically sound online courses to members that can qualify for valuable continuing education.

Historically, CMDA offered very few tangible benefits as part of membership and therefore the dues were able to be classified under certain IRS rules as charitable donations because the tangible benefits did not meet certain thresholds compared with the overall dues amount. With our desire to offer more tangible benefits to our members like the Learning Center, membership dues no longer qualify under these Treasury regulation exemptions as charitable donations. This also means that membership dues can no longer be paid through Donor Advised Funds. The good news is that most healthcare professionals will be able to use the CMDA membership dues amount as a business expense which is often better than an itemized deduction, but please talk to a tax professional as we cannot offer tax advice.

Can I use my Donor Advised Fund or IRA to pay membership dues?

Are there any discounts for membership dues?

All members have the option to receive a 10% discount each year when renewing their membership! You may pick one of two options.

Auto-Renewal: Take advantage of these savings by enrolling in auto-renewal with your preferred payment method.

Early Bird Renewal: When you receive your “early bird” membership renewal notice and renew within the month of receipt you will receive a 10% discount on your annual dues.

I am currently experiencing financial hardship. Does CMDA offer a dues waiver?

How do I renew my membership?

Renewals can be completed online through your member portal, by calling the Member Experience team at 888-230-2637 or by mailing the physical invoice that was mailed to you.

What is my renewal period?

Can I renew my membership automatically?

Yes! Auto-renewal also saves you 10% each year on your membership dues.

To make your CMDA membership experience smoother and more convenient, we offer an automatic renewal option. Enrolling in auto-renewal means CMDA will charge your discounted annual membership fee to your selected payment method on your renewal date without further action required from you. You can enroll in auto-renewal during the online payment process or over the phone by calling 888-230-2637.
